Regulations and Standards

FLS Davit Systems

  • Davits are a safe and practical permanent suspension system when used in combination with a self-powered platform (work platform mounted with either traction hoists or drum hoists).
  • Constructed of high strength aluminum alloy, Our Davit Systems boast a patented aluminum extrusion that is both light weight and strong.

FLS Socket Systems

  • Socket systems are galvanized steel embeds fixed to a building’s structure, welded or bolted, to provide safe and convenient rigging locations for our Davits.
  • Socket systems are generally exposed above the roof surface, but also can be recessed below pavers where a public space demands an aesthetic solution.
These systems are most effective in the following conditions
  • The maximum outreach required for facade access does not exceed 102 inches.
  • The building design has multiple levels (terraces, roof levels, etc.)
  • Platforms lengths can exceed 20 feet. Insert pic davit and platform
  • Building elevation is less than 490 feet.

Standard Sockets Pedestals Embeds

  • Roof mounted davit sockets consist of a vertical formed socket, bottom plate and middle support bar. These components are fabricated from ASTM A36 steel with a fully galvanized finish per ASTM A123 and conform to OSHA standards.
Roof mounted sockets are most effective in the following conditions:
  • The building structure is conducive to the attachment of the davit socket on a horizontal plane to the rooftop or safe work surface.
  • The installation is in New York State or any other state. (New York State Department of Labor Standards do not allow the use of mobile sockets.)
  • The number of davit socket locations is moderate.

Mobile Sockets

The standard mobile davit socket consists of a vertical formed socket, bottom plate, middle support bar, transport handle and roller wheel assembly. The steel components are fabricated from ASTM A36 steel with a fully galvanized finish per ASTM A123 and conform to OSHA standards. The mobile socket attaches to a mobile socket pedestal which is attached to the building structure.
Mobile davit sockets are most effective in the following conditions:
  • The building structure is conducive to the attachment of the mobile socket pedestal on a horizontal plane to the rooftop or safe work surface.
  • There are a relatively large number of embed pedestal locations.
  • The installation is not in New York State. (New York State Department of Labor Standards does not allow the use of mobile sockets.)

Flush mounted Mobile Sockets

The flush mount mobile davit socket consists of a vertical formed socket, bottom plate, middle support bar, transport handle and roller wheel assembly. The steel components are fabricated from ASTM A36 steel with a fully galvanized finish per ASTM A123 and conform to OSHA standards. The flush mount mobile socket attaches to a flush mount mobile socket pedestal which is attached to the building structure.
Mobile davit sockets are most effective in the following conditions:
  • The building structure is conducive to the attachment of the mobile socket pedestal on a horizontal plane to the rooftop or safe work surface.
  • Aesthetic consideration of the rooftop or safe work surface requires the embed locations to be hidden from view.
  • The installation is not in New York State. (New York State Department of Labor Standards does not allow the use of mobile sockets.)
